I tried the older version of the ShotKam a few years ago and it wasn't for me. The recordings were great, but the camera was too heavy. I ended up returning it and sticking with my Go Pro. When the Mini came out, I figured I give it another go, and boy am I glad I did. It's much smaller and lighter than I remember the old version being while still having the same battery life. 4 hours is plenty for a clay shooter. A bonus of the smaller size is it actually fits in my gun case without needing to be taken off each time.
Best gun camera on the market. It makes the other ones I've used feel like toys. You can feel the difference between this made in America camera and the inexpensive competitors from China.
High school trap team coach here. Finally convinced the school to invest in a ShotKam for the team. I love how easy it is to move the camera from gun to gun and how quickly you can access videos for review. We were offered a great price and will look to add 2-3 more over this next season.
I am a retired 72-year-old shooter and learning new technology is not easy for me. I've probably bothered the employees too often with questions, but they are always friendly, helpful and patient...and they speak perfect English. That's rare these days. The camera is great but the after sales service is what will keep me as a customer.
Absolutely love this thing. Bought it for sporting clays and it is very helpful in figuring out the misses and even the successes. The video clarity is amazing.
